MID JULY UNTIL ARRIVAL HOME AUGUST 19, 2011

The season has ended for one more year.  The next one(our 20th) will start mid to late May 2012 if all goes well health wise for the two of us "oldies but goodies".   We left the park on the morning of August 12th amid good wishes, lots of hugs and a few  "how dare you leave this early in the season!" Just because we used to stay until the end of September instead of mid August. Our second week at Lake Tahoe could not have been nicer and not having to go back to the park and the Yurt/Booth rotation and then pack was a definite plus!  Packing to come home is a trifle easier than the coming up trip. Going home it either fits or we give it away or toss. Usually people will take whatever . . .an extra tent . . .a grill . . .books, etc and they in turn will find a home for all when they leave.

The North Woods where we spent our week was nice.  Did little cooking and lots of eating of odds and ends, fruit  and TV dinners.  A step up from Curry and a step closer to real meals if in fact I can remember how to cook. Lots of hot showers, reading time, a few good TV shows on PBS which was  running their Pledge Drive. I used to say Pledge Week but as any who watch the channel know, it lasts and lasts. When we arrived home they were still doing it here. Wi Fi was flakier here however, then even in the park.

WI FI WORKS A WHOLE LOT BETTER HERE AT HOME!

Trip home went quite fast and we hooked up the Ipod Shuffle to the Van using an adapter and listened to good music all the way.  Gas in Minden and again at Kramer Junction.  Lunch at Bishop at Carl Juniors after we found THE SIZZLER was now a SUSHI place of some kind.  Dinner was just before we left 395 for I-15.  At a Denney's and they had an excellent bacon/avocoda burrito.  The only slow down was about an hour of 20 mph near Corona.

HOWEVER EACH PLACE HAS ITS OWN BEAUTY

Cleaning up will take a couple more days.  Packing next year has been started in as much as we left one tent, the screen room and the stove in the van.  Takes a day or two to get the laundry caught up but we have had good help!  Yuri, the almost 5 year old helped bring things out of the van and is helping in any way he can.  Fascinated by all the camping stuff as he has never been.

Kids have been wonderful . . .Rich and Kathy took us to breakfast on Saturday morning, helped get Paul's computer up and running, then brought in pizza for Saturday night dinner and conversation. Sunday night we had a welcome home dinner cooked by Mike and Robin.  Excellent food in all cases and nice to be home and catch up with news, good food, laughter and Margaritas which Dolores did really well.

SCARLET DID NOT FORGET US

Now is the time for our 'at home' social life, a good deal of which involves people whose names begin with Dr!
